ENJOY SUMMER CONCERTS IN THE PARK Grab lawn chairs and a picnic for evenings of music in the park with family. Bands range from country and rock to '80s and pop. Sundays, July 8-Aug. 12, 5:30 p.m. Mike Ward Community Park — Woodbridge. Free.    WATCH A MOVIE ON THE LAWN Movies on the Lawn at the Orange County Great Park continue July 6 with Clambake and July 7 with Peter Rabbit, and conclude July 14 with The Greatest Showman. Arrive at 6:30 p.m.; movies start at dusk. Free.    VOLUNTEER FOR GLOBAL VILLAGE EVENT Be a part of Irvine's largest community event in celebration of diversity and cultural heritage. Volunteers are needed Sept. 21-23 to assist in all areas of the Irvine Global Village Festival. Registration is now open.   SEE PACIFIC SYMPHONY PERFORM LIVE Enjoy a free outdoor concert featuring Pacific Symphony. Before the concert, a Musical Playground for Children features interactive kids' activities. 5:30 p.m. July 29. Mike Ward Community Park — Woodbridge.    TEST CHESS SKILLS AT TOURNAMENT Non-rated and rated players ages 6-18 are invited to test their skills this summer and compete in the Orange County Great Park's Chess Tournament. Saturday, July 14, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. $30/player. Registration required.    MAKE S'MORES OVER A CAMPFIRE Spend an evening with friends and family singing songs, storytelling and making s'mores. Ages 3+; adults must accompany children younger than 18. Friday, Aug. 3, 7-8:30 p.m. Turtle Rock Nature Center. $5/person.    SPLASH AND SWIM IN THE POOL Bring your kids to the pool for recreational swimming at William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center, featuring a water slide, springboards and inflatable obstacle course. Hours and activities vary. $2 per child; $4 per adult.    PLAY OUTDOOR GAMES WITH FAMILY Bring the family to the park and enjoy a day of lawn games, board games and more.
